Jeffrey Ott, PT
Jeff is a physical therapist and a board-certified clinical specialist in orthopedic physical therapy, who joined Armor Physical Therapy in 2021. He graduated with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Andrews University in 2013. Previously, he attended Lake Michigan College to obtain his Associates Degree in Business Administration with a focus in health science and personal training and later obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Health Science at Andrews University. Jeff has extensive experience working in the outpatient physical therapy setting throughout Michigan, specializing in orthopedics and spine, sports medicine, manual therapy, functional movement, and injury prevention.
Jeff strives to treat his patients with the highest level of care driven by his strong desire to help those who seek help to achieve their personal goals and improve their quality of life. His desire to better help others has driven him to greatly advance his clinical skill set. Along with being a board-certified clinical specialist in orthopedic physical therapy (OCS), he is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). He has advanced training in orthopedic manual therapy (OMT) and treatment of the spine with spinal manipulation, completing all post-graduate coursework with the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT), studying under co-founder, Erl Pettman. Jeff utilizes a “full-body” approach with advanced training in functional movement and injury prevention, obtaining certifications with Functional Movement Systems (FMS), including, Functional Movement Screening: FMS- Level 2 Certified, Selective Functional Movement Assessment: SFMA-Level 2 Certified, and Y-Balance Certified. He has further body mechanics and functional movement training with Gary Gray's: Gray Institute, being certified in Applied Functional Science (CAFS), and 3D-MAPS.
Jeff has advanced training to treat the golf population, as he is TPI-Level 1 certified with the Titleist Performance Institute for Golf. Additionally, Jeff is certified in Graston Technique, which involves the use of stainless-steel instruments to address and treat soft-tissue dysfunction and pain. Currently, Jeff is studying how life-style factors, such as sleep habits, nutrition, physical activity, breathing patterns, and stress management, influence the human body and overall health.
Jeff grew up in Stevensville, Michigan, a small town along the Great Lake Michigan. In his free time, Jeff enjoys a wide variety of activities, including spending time with his friends and family, being physically active, being outside in nature, hiking, biking, being on the water or at the beach, listening to music, reading a good book, watching movies, cooking and eating, and hanging out with his dog and cat, Hannah and Sammy.
